B3. Magnetic measurement facilities

Magnetic Measurement Laboratory (CERN)

Superconducting Magnet Lab (CIEMAT)

Electron irradiation by electron beam or by Bremsstrahlung,

  • Energy: 0,25 to 2,0 MeV and current 10 pA to 150mA,
  • Samples from 3 mm2 to about 20x20 cm2,
  • At target area unfocussed beam is ~1 cm diameter,
  • Beam can be focussed up to ~1 mm diameter (for small samples),
  • Beam can be defocussed up to ~3 cm diameter,
  • Beam can be scanned over 20x20 cm2 (for large samples).

BML - Magnetic Measurement Bench (CNRS)

This bench can be utilized for magnetic centring, field integral strength measurements and integrated multipole measurements for multipole magnets with a radius of 6mm or larger up to 40mm

Magnetic Field Lab (KIT)

Magnet Test Laboratory (STFC)

The magnet test laboratory offers a full suite of magnet measurement and validation facilities.

  • Hall Probe Measurement Bench,
  • Flipping Coil Bench,
  • Pulsed-Wire Bench,
  • Helmholtz Coils,
  • Calibration Magnet,
