Cryomodule assembly platform

Context:

1650 m2 cryomodule assembly halls with 3 cranes (m ≤ 20 t).

Technical means:
  • Clean room exit area (A = 16x7.5 m2, ceiling height h = 12 m),
  • Alignment area (A = 17.5x16 m2, ceiling height h = 12 m),
  • Cantilever area (A = 40x11 m2),
  • Shipment area (A = 30x17 m2),
  • Warehouse (A = 25x12 m2, on two levels).

ISO4 clean room

Context:

Positive pressure clean room partitioned into 3 different ISO classes: 7, 5 and 4.

Technical means:
  • Total surface area of the clean room: a ≈ 200 m2 (of which a = 112.5 m2 at ISO class 4 with total laminar flow).
  • Length of the ISO4 room: l = 15.6 m,
  • Door dimensions: 2.8 m x 2.6 m,
  • Ceiling height: h = 3.4 m.

ISO5 clean room

Context:

Assembly of cavities following high pressure rinsing.
Positive pressure clean room partitioned into 2 ISO classes (ISO class 7 and ISO class 5) and adjacent High Pressure Rinsing (HPR) room at ISO class 5.


Technical means:
  • Total surface area of the clean room: a = 90 m2 (of which a = 52 m2 at ISO class 5 with total laminar flow),
  • Length of the ISO5 room: l = 8.45 m,

Thin film deposition laboratory

Context:
  • Two ALD depository benches.
    • research: small samples, new chemistries
    • development: macroscopic objects
  • Future HIPIMS (High Impulse Magnetron Sputtering) deposition bench
  • Thematic: corrosion, superconductors (cavity, QuBits), multipacing reduction (couplers, cavities...), filtration
  • Materials : nitrides, oxides, metals

Technical means:
  • Research:
    • chamber/reactor ΦxL: 50x70 cm,
    • temperature: 30-500°C,
    • 7 precursor lines (3 solids, 2 liquids, 2 gases),
    • Chamber adaptation possible (cavities, QPR).
  • Development
    • high vacuum oven ΦxL: 50x70 cm,
    • temperature: 30-650 °C
    • 8 precursor lines (4 solids, 2 liquids, 2 gases),
    • in-situ: RGA.
  • Other: glove box under N2, fume cupboard, 4-point measurement, optical microscope, 3-zone tube furnace under gas (Ar, N2, O2, N2-H2).

Thin film deposition laboratory

Diagnostics, Vacuum and Assembly (DIVA)

Context:

The laboratory is a clean air-conditioned zone where several working areas are available for mechanical assembly, vacuum leak tests, pumping speed measurement or hydraulic tests for various parts of accelerators, ion sources or beam diagnostics.


Technical means:
  • Outgassing test stand,
  • Oven operating under vacuum, Tmax = 1200 °C,
  • Vacuum chambers,
  • Three marble workbenches,
  • Numerical recording (30 channels),
  • Residual gas analyzer (100 amu).
